Celebrated for his advocation of Indian independence, his founding of the Visva-Bharati University, and his astoundingly broad ouevre, which included art, poetry, music and prose, Tagore won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. His work resonates with audiences to this day, both eastern and western alike.Nilanjan Banerjee was educated at Visva-Bharti of India and Reitaku University of Japan. He is a poet, painter, curator, and film maker with a series of publications to his credit. A Charles Wallace Scholar, he was trained as a curator by the British Museum.
