Born and brought up in small-town India Jawahara does not remember a time when she was not writing. With the publication of her first short story when she was 12, hooked her for life. Jawahara writes fiction and non-fiction. Her first novel, The Burden of Foreknowledge was published in 2007. Her second novel is currently with her literary agent, looking for a home while she works on a new and exciting non-fiction project. For years Jawahara was a weekly columnist for Mid-Day newspaper in Mumbai, India and an online featured writer at www.chowk.com. Her short stories, essays and flash fiction has been published in book anthologies, journals and magazines. Jawahara lives in northern New Jersey with her little family.
